Portraiture: Full Colour Palette (Part 2) with Maxwell Stone (does not include after class workshop)
Part 2 of the portraiture class with brilliant artist Maxwell Stone @general_light is here, this time with a full colour palette.
In this follow-up session, along with furthering our discussion of head structures, we will be taking the light and shadow concepts and apply them with color theory. Artists will improve their ability to quickly draw head and face gestures to support their coloring and rendering process.

Instructor materials:
Chalk pastel palette consistent of shades of blue, orange, yellow ochre, and high key pigments (Refer to materials list)
Shammy
Conte 1710 charcoal pencil
Prismacolor NU chalk pastels
Strathmore drawing pad 18 x 24 80lb/130g/m2 (paper with a rougher texture is recommended).
What you should bring:
• The recommended materials would be a medium hardness chalk pastel.
• The recommended brand would be Prismacolor NU pastels
• Again, these are just recommendations. You are more than welcome to use any medium to suit your preferences.
Objectives:
Understanding basic structures of the head.
Expanding knowledge of colour mixing using a full palette.
Dark to light values using cool and warm colours.
Using values and colours to render long poses.
